Mardi Gras 2010

We went down to Louisiana to visit family and we just happened to pick the week of Mardi Gras to visit! ;) We drove over night Friday the 12th and at 5am Saturday morning in Jackson, Mississippi we skid on ice and totalled our van!!! And of course I was driving! And of course we had to drive from Nebraska to the south to do it! So aggravated. We had to rent a van to get back home and since all the car seats fit in the back of the car, we're just going to use the car for now and Ryan can ride his scooter to work. Wish I would have known that two car seats and a booster would fit sooner. We probably could have done without those payments a long time ago! Thank goodness the insurance cover the loan on it. Needless to say, we really didn't feel like going to any parades. We did go to one on Mardi Gras day. There is a small parade that rolls in front of my sister's house, we all went there. For my friends who are reading this that have never been to Mardi Gras, the float you will see are very small to what they have in New Orleans and Metairie. But it's perfect for small kids. The crowds are a lot small and the parade is shorter (maybe too short though).

Mmmm! Moon Pie!Some genius fans (not these people), named the Saints Super Bowl Parade (which was just a week before Mardi Gras) "Lombardi Gras." I thought it was pretty clever. (I don't know if everyone knows this, but just in case; the Super Bowl trophy is named the Vince Lombardi Trophy)

Still chowin' down on that Moon Pie!

Mason and some of his loot!
